Electric cutout + Deep puddles = ??? Hey I was wondering just how waterproof the electic cut-outs are... I live in an area that gets a lot of rain so it is inevitable that the thing would see some deep puddles if I got it.... Anybody here have any experience with them and deep puddles?

eh? Deep puddles - do you plan on fording your LS1? 
No seriously, an exhaust system has positive pressure when the motors running so water will not easily get into the exhaust system, even when submerged. How do you think 4x4's get across deep water otherwise?
If it's an electric cut out then the contacts/plug will need some protection, but this is to help prevent corrosion more than anything.
Although corrosion of the actually cutout will be more due to rapid heating and cooling than deep water.

My worries would be more over the long term, the
corrosion of the limit switches and the motor itself.
You'd expect that the exhaust heat would dry it in
short order. But I did apply a bit of black RTV in some
spots when I got mine, where I thought the heat-
shrink sleeving was not enough of a water barrier.

unless you submurge the cutout motor in water then it should be fine, they all come with the housing and should have protecting covering over the wires so water wont hurt it.
