Problems with my 411 gears
I just purchased some richmond 411 gears. the guy i bought them form said they came off a 2002 camaro ss. i have a 2002 firebird formula ls1 and all my gears and drive is stock. after i bought these ive been researching these and i found out that richmond dosent make 411 for the 7.5 10 bold rear. the guy i bought them form dosent know anything else except they are richmond 411 gears. what are my options at this point what do i need to make these fit. or would it be cheaper to just purchase a new set for the 10 bolt 7.5 rear.

Some people use 4.10 and 4.11 interchangeably, 4.11 is the ford equivalent of 4.10. I think that there are a few manufacturers that make 4.11's for our stock 10 bolts, it's possible he's off on the brand...
It DOES matter if it's for a 7.5 or and 8.2, but since he has 7.5 (assuming here...), why are you worried if they'll fit?

well, he might be off on the brand. I have Yukon 4.11s. They are no-**** 4.11s for my 7.5 rear. So, if he is off on the brand then they might very well be 4.11s. But if you dont know if they came out of a 7.5 or 8.2 then you need to find that out.

You might look for some numbers and post them here.
The tooth count should be on the gears somewhere. Or count them and divide the ring gear tooth count by the pinion tooth count and you will get the ratio.
It may say on them GM 7.5, 7.625 or 7 1/2, 7 5/8.

he emailed me back and said they came out of a 2002 camaro ss. and he said that i have a 2002 and they came out of a 2002 and that they would fit and not to worry. but im not sure. i figured that they were inexpensive and if they dont work i wasnt out allot of money.
