what brand ??? my QTEC leaks a bit but my exhaust is fairly loud so I don't care..I did at one time but my friends said I was the only person on Earth who could hear it!!!!...some guys put some RTV sealant on the base so the butterfly sits against it when closed...but some say this doesn't work too well or too long....ANYBODY.???......

I have seen this done. It isn't easy, but is relatively cheap and it supposedly works DAMNED well. I saw a car with dual cutouts that had taken a header reducer and welded actual screen (yes, house door stuff) to the back end. Inside was stuffed a little with attic insulation. It amounted to a 3-4" muffler immedeatly after the cutouts. They said it made the exhaust sound a TON better with the cutouts open and completely eliminated ANY leaking noises!
