LT1 Edit vs. Tuner Cat??
Sorry if its a repost, but i couldn't find anything on the site.
which one to go for and why?
I definitely need to get one of these as they guys in the Dyno down here got the LS1 programmers only.
what are you using and what are the ups and downs?

Tuner cat because it was cheaper and not VIN locked. I have already helped some friends out with gear changes and shift poits, so glad I went that route I guess. Not sure from a programming stand point which is better. I have heard you can do more with TC but lt1 edit was easier to use.

I wonder how many people base their TC opinions on their OBD1 software. I don't think their OBD2 stuff is any harder to use than LS1edit and HP Tuners that I've used on LS1 vehicles. The biggest problem with TC is their lack of a scanner packaged with it, but I have other scan tools I use with it.

You need the ALDL1 adaptor and then the CABL1 connector for a 94 or the CABL2 for a 95.

oh ok, and this works great? I have had problems with the aldl cable and the serial to usb adapter. so i just buy the 2 pieces aldl1 and cabl1 and they go together? any drivers needed or anything. how easy was it to set up?

after being spoiled to FAST vs LT1 edit it's a PIA adjsuting tables like Volumetric Efficiency vs KPA vs RPM. You are able to make the various table adjustments much easier than in LTedit, especially with a wideband 02 setup.
Much easier to do with FAST, have not seen the Big Stuff setup or know how it works but am interested to see it.

And yes it works good. I've done about 15-20 programs with TC and have had no problems.
