Default What do you have to say?

Well. It maybe time to take the insurance of my 92 that only gets 9 miles to gallon.

So im thinking about going with an lt1. Now I know there not perfect but I cant drive a honda and I have heard lt1s can get up to 18 or more mpg. Is this true for the most part?

Last question. Is there a big decrease in MPG with a few basic mods ex. Exhaust or intake?

Thanks for the help

i get between 16 and 19 driving in town. keep in mind my car has 3.73s, 3000 stall, and bolt ons. the only thing ive yet to do is put my cam in and i dont expect to see a big difference. its not necessarily which mods you do its more how you use them together to get performance and drivability.

After I did a full exhaust and some mild weight reduction, I actually gained some MPGs. Now, I get around 18-20 in the city on a A4.

I was extremely interested in a 3rd gen with an LT1 conversion a few months back and from what I was reading they get great mileage in a third gen because of the weight, or lack thereof for that matter.
Oh and if your talking about in a fourth gen The normal for me to read about is somewhere around 20 on the highway and like 13-16 in the city.

throw a 6 speed in your 3rd gen... that will help the mileage.

I got an average of 23mpg with my 6-speed LT1, lightly modded: intake, exhaust, suspension, and a couple others.

it's a 15.5 gallon tank. if you're going over that than you're going past the first click which means you've destroyed your charcoal canister

I didnt know if there was a difference so I asked

I found a pretty good deal on a 1993 Camaro with 120,000 no A/c hardtop new tires and new dist. and water pump. I think its a pretty good deal for 3500. Considering I only get 9 miles to the gallon.
