How many of you have a stall and spray w/ 7.5?
I just installed 3:73 gears and moved up from a 75 to a 100 shot. All my rear end has right is an Eaton Posi and 3:73’s and now I’m thinking of going with a stall converter maybe a 3500 to 4000. My question is will my 7.5 be able to handle it with nitrous and how many of you have similar set ups? I have M/T ET streets so right now at an idle launch I have no problems with traction but with a stall do any of you think my rear end is on borrowed time?

Don't spray it dead out of the hole and you should be ok. You could always pick up a progressive controller too. That would deffinatly help you out.

I don't think the stock rear end is as weak as some will make it out to be.
My 00SS has had a 3600 or 4000 stall in it for the last 3 years and i have sprayed my car for over 60,000 miles(150 wet) with no real trouble to speak of.
On Nitto's i pull 1.61 60's (no better than all motor) But on E/T streets my best is a low 1.5.
I know that M6 cars are rea hard on stock 10 bolts due to heavy shock loads,but that is the beauty of a loose convertor(pre-load).
I say use common sense and your rear end will thank you for it.
At 95,000 miles i finally had a issue with the pinion bearing(Noisy),i swapped out a M6 rear end. A low mileage unit from a car that was never raced and that was about the same cost as fixing my pinion problem.

If the car is dead hooking out of the hole on the bottle, a progressive controler would hurt your times. If your getting wheel spin off the line it will help you. I would suggest getting your converter installed and then going out to the track to see how the car acts.
Check out Thunder Racing for a Girdle and stud kit. If you have some basic hand tools, a torque wrench, and basic mechanical skills, you can install it yourself. It's really only a 30 minute install.

TOO easy to install. buy some brake clean and some gear oil and posi additive (or synthetic which has the additive in it- i use 80/90w oil (amsoil or whatever). jack the car up on stands or on ramps, loosen the bolts to your stock cover, hold your breath (trust me ) and pry it loose to drain the old oil. remove the cover and brakeclean the **** out of the gears/posi. then follow the directions on the stud kit, doing one side at a time, then follow the directions on the girdle. you are susposed to have a inch/lb torque wrench but i just GENTLY tightened the bearing cap pressure bolts in the girdle and then tightened the lock nuts. fill it up and you are good to go! there are detailed written directions so you really can't **** it up if you follow them.
