Default Cam to big for stock shortblock

I am looking at getting a cam and i wanted to know if this would fit in my car or if i would have piston valve clearance problems.

best way to find out is to punch her in, throw on some check springs/dial indicator and check. Its just a waste of time to try and figure out if it will fit or not before even checking.

Like Haans249 said, you wont know for sure until you try it. That being said, there are cams considerably larger that fit under stock heads. While you cant tell for sure based on cam specs, it atleast looks likely.

I just kind of want to know before i waste my money on something i cant use. I cant belive no one has even tried to put a came this size in an a stock shot block before.

People have put bigger cams in stock shortblocks before, but you cant tell what the P to V clearance is going to be based on .050 duration and max lift.

People have put much, much, much larger cams than that on a stock short block. I daily drive a 237/242 .603/.609 113 and others run cams that are measurably larger than that all the time.


Need more info. It will *probably* clear.

its gonna fit for sure, just like the guy before said, he gave you the specs to a texas speed magic stick v3, which is the same cam I run, which is bigger than the one your asking about. It will fit.
