Default Max weight a 304 tubular header will support?

How much weight is safe to hang off a forward facing 304 header?

Pretty much none, or as little as you can. 304 is very prone to cracking as it it w/o expansion joints, adding weight only makes it worse.

I have twin T61S T4 turbos hanging from my 304 turbo headers but am looking into support brackets for longevity.

Depends on a lot of things.

Layout of the pipes is just one of them.

Ok - next question

Lets assume my turbos have a support welded to the frame (motor is solid mounted) will the expansion of the steel hurt because both ends are solid mounted?

layout will be just like my old setup, in this picture

http://www.ecma-334.com/ttls1.jpg

only difference will be much bigger turbos, and the passanger side turbo will be a little higher to help clear the frame for oil return fitting.

You can see in this picture where it would be easy to weld a mount to the car frame to support a turbos weight

if you do a slip fit youll be less likly to crack, the expansion contraction i think contributes most to the cracking

Stupid question for those of us fairly new to this: what's a slip fit?

Because the turbo is mounted solid to the car, and the header is mounted solid to the motor, which is also solid mounted.

So when the stainless steel expands, there is no room for it to grow if its all welded together but with a slip fit joint it will expand and contract without damaging the headers.

more precisly the tbes may expand and contract where if they were welded solid on the colector they will stress and crack from the expansion and contraction caused by the heating and cooling cycle

on a slip fit the joints slide into each other and has some allowabvle play for the expansion and contraction
