What are the best bang for buck drag rims?
I recently sold my Convos to get something a little more serious, along with the fact that I did not like running a 10" tire on a 7.5" rim... at the same time I am swapping out my stock brakes for manual race ones (not sure on Aero or Strange?!?)... I have a stock length 12 bolt and need skinnies for the front and 15x10's for the back... I don't care much for bling and these rims will never see the street... hoping to see the car break into the 9's in the high 130's... I want something that looks decent and is on the lighter side...
I am leaning in the direction of Bogart Classic Stars, but am wondering if there are any other choices in the ~$1000 range...
Thanks!

Bogart D10's for an all out drag car. But hell I think weld prostars look awesome and aren't nearly as expensive. You're giving up a few pounds but take the money you spend and put it towards tires and fuel.

I wouldn't advise the Bogart classic star fly series wheel for your car.
You really need to stay with the P1 or P2 series if you want ultimate weight savings...Ecnomy wheels such as prostars or draglites...you're giving up more then just a few lbs of rotational weight.
...I can build an Aluma lite runner down to ~6.75 lbs for drag brakes...being one of our Bogart customers will also have some perks for you...we offer our Bogart customers non-public pricing(not listed on the website) for Strange Engineering products as well as a select few other items. Call or e-mail me if you need more help.

Unfortunately, you'll be looking at are the prostar/draglites in that price-range. If your budget was slightly higher, then you could consider our wheels. You could hold off and save for higher end components when your budget allows it. Look for used parts, you may find a deal.
Like mentioned, the fly series are not a good option for your car.
Good luck on your results.

You didn't, but your sig states you were 3400#.
2900 is better, but I'd like to see you lower. You must have put quite a few dollars in to lightening up your car to get it down to that #....You'd be pushing the limit of the wheels...definitely trailer only-run on the track only setup.
It's your call; I'd still opt for the billet series wheels for the small dollar difference and much higher quality wheel.

What is the price difference from the 2 piece classic star to the billet series... you already gave me a quote on the stars... the drag rims will NEVER see the street... I have a set of stock 16's for when I drive it around town...
My car was 3175lbs last season with stock brakes, stock steel hood, stock rack and power steering along with the motorized Firebird lights... all these things are being changed for lighter parts... it will weigh about ~2900lbs without driver...

Andre,
For the minimal difference in weight I would consider weld pro stars.
15x10 and 15x4. They look good and are pretty lightweight.
The bogarts are nice but it doesnt look like you want to spend the premium for them.

I personally don't think these rims are as expensive as people make them out to be, especially for a custom rim.
