Default TRAK Cam installed last night ( pics link inc )

Started on the Thunder Racing TRAK Cam install yesterday.
232/235 .647 .599 112 lsa

Posting up pics on my wifes gto site

http://www.purplegto.com/images/caminstall

Finished up last night at 2am. HOLEY COW does this baby roar now. I used to think the TR224 had a bad *** idle, but this thing kicks a$$.

A few knuckles were donated to the Car MOD gods and they were happy. It started right up. Obviously a bit pissed but once the fuel rails were pressurized it didn't do to bad at all.

We used pen magnets. Didn't get a picture of that stage because of the we got it done so fast. Only took us 30 minutes per side.

Maggie, oh thats such a long stoy.

Basically its a piece of flaming dog poo from a company who's customer service SUCKS. If you ever post ANYTHING negative or not groveling to them they will no longer support you or the POS.

Awesome. Post up your track and dyno results as you get them. Oh, and a sound clip is always nice. That cam sounds soooo sweet.

Just finished idle tuning running SD. Now to get the wb02 ( lc-1 ) setup in the GTO, I have to move it from the SS. But D*MN at 750 this thing sounds so mean.

Oh believe me I love how easy it was to work on everything compared to the SS. We had to also replace piston 2's springs on the SS today and it took forever to get that passenger side stuff off. Freaking everything is in the way. The GTO was so easy, as you can see we were able to just move everything back and down.

I will post up the track times after I take her to the next test and tune night up at Atlanta Dragway, don't plan on going to a dyno but will use my EFI real world hp pid instead. No need to hit the dyno anymore since I have EFI and a LC-1 .

EFILive Real World HP PID

Definitely worth the money:

The cam is pretty damn sick man. I just put the FAST 90/90 on. Pulley and cut out go on Wed. I am hoping for near 430 to the wheels. I have mine idled at 1k, drives a lil better like that, and it sounds like a small cam. 750 sounds mean as hell though, we play with the idle some just to hear it. What timing are u finding works best for your setup?

I have dropped it down to 750 and it was idling just fine with 23.4 degrees of timing. LC-1 is showing the afr just a little rich but usin EFI AutoVE that will inline in no time. Just finished open loop today and will do the closed loop part of autove tomorrow then its onto getting the spark tweeked.

The GTO says "G O". HAha, it is funny if that wasn't done on purpose.

yea, we just have it up there so it doesn't shake the car so bad..lol, seems to come off the line a lil better to.

As far as this cam being in the 430-450 setup with heads, I should be in the high 420's, if not at 430 with cam only, I don't see why you wouldnt see 450+ with a good set of heads. Of course, it's all about tuning to. Patrick made 487 I think with it. This cam is pretty damn sick.

Its up there http://www.purplegto.com/images/caminstall
trakcam.wav

orangeapeel - The G-O I know, pretty funny my wife hit something but wont admit it. There is a crease in the bumper right below it and the grill work was pushed off the pins when I took it off. ( HMMM, sounds like she was showing off in here GTO a hit something to me .

Forgot to mention - this setup is my wifes car, although now that I hear the sound and power of this cam I most likely will be swapping out the tr224 in e SS for a TRAK cam. I am sure with the FLP LTHeaders and straight pipes that thing would rattle the neighbors windows big time.
