Default Does a cellphone hurt your credit??

A friend of mine told me it doesn't, and if I wanted to I could just not pay it will get turned off w/o it hurting my credit. Just wanted to see if anyone knew this for a fact.

It will only hurt if it gets reported to a collection agency for non-payment.

Yes, it will hurt your credit if you don't pay because they will certainly submit it to collection. Once it hits collection, even if you pay it off it will leave a stain on your credit for 7 years at least (marked as "Paid Collection"). Been there, done that.

late pays also hurt your credit and a collection is the last thing you want.
