Cant get old tips off. what do i do?
I just ordered some Megs dual dual 3.5 tips. 180 dollars. High Quality, i go out to take my old dual dual slp tips off and they barely budge. They arent coming off any time soon. They are not welded, they have been clamped for about 3 years now. I unclamp it and then tryed to muscle it off by twisting back and forth, it moves a little but i need some help. Anyoen know how to get these off without sawing or anything.

The problem is that the tip is caved in around a divot in the tailpipe. Brute force is the only way of seperating the two, and chances are you're not going to do that by hand.
If your slp tips are shot I'd use a die grinder to slice them, allowin you to open them up and get them off. At least this way you know the tailpipe is left intact so you have room to either clamp or weld up your new tips w/o adding a mid pipe.

It's made out of Stainless steel, and since it was clamped on, that means it was "crimped" on. Like these guys all said, you have to use some WD-40, but there is still no way they are gonna just slide off. You have to bang the hell out them. Find something that won't damage it too much, and just start banging it towards the back. It'll come off with enough muscle. Of course if you don't want them anymore, then just cut'em.

take a cut off tool, or a die grinder, and cut two lines about 2 inches apart from the back edge towards the front, then spread the tip and pull em .. takes about 10 minutes a side, tops ..
or you can BFH them for a couple of hours.. your choice.
heating them up will help, but you better have good gloves or you will burn the crap out of your hands.
