Leave the stock one on there and sell the Z06 MAF.
You pretty much answered your own question.

See user title............

What exactly were you hoping to gain by switching to the z06 MAF?

i guess i was figuring a bigger opening would mean more air. but i think i might have figured out the problem, tell me what ya'll think. the meter is bigger and reading more air at the sensor so it is telling the comp to send more fuel, but my stock t.b. and intake won't allow that much air to be sucked in. i put my stock one back on but later down the road when i have a different t.b. and intake and cam and heads would it be beneficial to use this maf or just keep the stock? is what i said make sense or am i just way off?

It will only read as much airflow as the throttle body is flowing. Since the throttle body is only 75mm......... you see a problem yet?

It's true that it flows more, but the z06 MAF , well actually the z06 PCM, is calibrated for the values it will be sending out. You wouldn't put volkswagen 02 sensors in your LS1 would ya?

When you upgrade the rest of the intake tract to 90mm stuff, it will be benificial, but also need tuning. I plan on picking one up when I put my new motor together, for now I plan on running the 90mm intake/tb with the STOCK MAF/bellow.

My stock MAF works just fine. I'd stick with that.
