Default How bad will she run untuned?

Mods are in sig. It was tuned for what was in the sig and did 397hp, 386tq. It runs perfect,im adding tsp ls6 heads, fast 90/90 and svo 30 pound injectors. The only thing is my tuner is backed up for like a month after ill have the work done. Can i drive untuned or will this hurt any thing?

yes you can seriously damage your motor if you go untuned.

with as much as you have invested in your hotrod, you should seriously consider getting your own tuning suite. www.greenlightmotorsports.com has some awesome deals on www.efilive.com and wb's

Not to mention, you're probably leaving a solid 15+hp on the table by going untuned.

i would say more then that...svo 30's are like 38lb injectors on our car if i remember correctly off the top of my head so hes probably going to be running a 10:1 or lower a/f ratio at wot which is going to cost a ton of power...there was a post on here I think where a guy did the same type of thing and did some damage...I think Phil was tuning his car maybe he'll be able to shed some light on that situation...bottom line is at least get your ifr table correct before you go driving around on it.

you could do the heads and the intake with no ill-effects other than a non-optimal tune and maybe some small idle issues. You could drive around like that forever if you wished to.

However, I would not put the injectors in and drive with them untuned.

werd...depending on how large the cam you might have some stalling issues but other then that it should do fine as long as you dont throw those injectors in now.

28lb-stock 01 injectors...ford 30 svo's=~38lbers on our cars...and yes i think with a heads/cam setup they are well worth it.

I personally feel they are unneeded unless you are having problems with going lean. I've seen TONS of 98, 01-02 bigger heads/cam cars still running the stock 28lb injectors. Generally the only time I see the need to upgrade to larger injectors is on a 99-00 car with 24-26lb injectors.

FWIW. My cam-only car made 414 through a 9" w/4.10 gears. I saw zero HP difference between stock 28lb, 30lb SVO, and 42lb SVO injectors... I did see driveability comfort decrease with the larger injectors though. The car always wanted to pulsate a little bit... especially with the 42's.
