Default Turbo Camshaft in 347

Puttin together the new forged motor to run 14.7# and am debating the LS6 cam or the Comp XR265HR-15 which specs can be found here

Operating Range - 1,500 to 6,800
Duration @ .050" - 212º/218º
Advertised Dur - 265º/271º
Lift (int/exh) - .558/.563
Lobe Separation - 115

Grind # LS1 XR265HR-15

Would be real nice to build boost on my rear mount and still get an aggressive sound out of it without drawing too much attention from the PD. Recommendations?

first of all you know that 1-bar is just atmospheric pressure itself...I think that you're talking about a 2-bar setup...hahaha...=) I think that the comp cam would sound pretty good...It's not going to be too annoying and it would be a pretty nice cam for boost...If you do it you should post some vid for other guys wanting to decide on a cam selection..

Dangit... I'm such a moron some days. =) I'm very curious what the cam would sound like and how it would perform. As I'm going from a hot cam, I'm sure it would be quite an improvement! I may just end up heading that direction and definitely get a recording and post it up for others to hear. It's only the high-lift grind that has THOSE specs, the other one is on a 114lsa, much lower lift and rated to 6k rpm. Slowly but surely, getting it going. Thanks for the correction and opinion.

But, when he says he's going to run 2-bar.. that means his goal is 29psi. (1bar=14.5psi). But, I think he really meant his goal is 1bar... 14.5psi... 1 bar is atmospheric pressure, but since the motor isn't truly going to read 14.5psi of boost when he's N/A, you don't include atmospheric pressure as part of your setup.

So basically, I'm saying I think he wants to run 14.5psi. Most people with 346's don't run 29psi, unless you're Harlan or someone

Edit/P.S.: I'm not 100% sure I'm right, but it's just TMK.

I don't know, I'm still contemplating it. The new motor will handle 7 grand easy, would like a wider power band without losing too much bottom end, getting tired of having to shift ever 1.5 seconds!
