It can probably be fixed if it's not too bad.

Well.... I bought an SS hood on here for 500$ plus shipping, knowing it had to be repaired.... well now that I have it, shops are asking for about 500$ to fix it, I didn't think it would be that bad.... it still beats a 1500$ brand new OEM hood, but when you can get a perfect used one for less that a G shipped, I feel stupid now.....
Anyways, my dad's friend owns a body shop and for free he's letting me use his tools and kinda tell me what to do, and I think he'll help me out with the hard parts.... but he informed me it'll be about 20 hours of hard work... AHHHH what did I get myself into?
But yeah.... it depends how bad

Could be worst........My 02 WS6 OEM Ram Air Hood cost $2800.00 CDN to replace.
The front of the hood got smacked and it cannot be repaired.
Could have gone aftermarket but the car just wouldnt be the same.

Sorry to hear about your accident man...Hope you get it fixed soon..

I like that you were honest about it.Most people on message boards always have some outrageous scenario of how it wasn't thier fault...Its always some idiot,or some moron that caused them to loose control while they were going 120mph+ (You know, just cruisin' along ) in a school zone and then complain about the police officer citing them for it.

Again,good luck on the repair.

yeah man that sux, but i did the same thing in my t/a. i bought a wrecked ws6 hood about a month earlier for it fixed it and had painted it like one week before the accident. it was so bad one of ram air sides was completely off the hood. there was two chunks missing about the size of a half dollar. it took me about a week and a half to fix it. it can be fixed just be patient. make sure to lay the fiberglass good. i had one problem on the underside where it kept cracking through. also even the small cracks fibergalss them too. im sure your buddy will give you some pointers too

I would buy a new hood and sell that one to someone who wants to spend money to fix it... it looks the the top could be fixed but the underside is wacked out too. It'll never be the same and after time it may seperate showing the accident. I had my hood fixed with this special epoxy and it wasn't as bad as yours and it still showed after time

Wow. I'm thinking I'd just buy a new hood.

Won't your insurance cover it?

the ones on ebay for 500 are aftermarket POS, I spent 600$ to get a wrecked hood.... a good OEM glass hood will go for 850$ to $1000, and carbon fiber.... I know of one company that makes a zl1 style SS for $1200...
