Re: Grotyohan long tubes
I am having trouble getting the driver side to fit in. It has clearance issues with the k member. I also had to grind off a small ear on my tranny. I am putting on a tubular k member.
Passenger side I removed the starter and it slid up inside nicely.

Quick Time Performance and Thunder Racing (both sponsors of this site) carry them. They are readily available (I'm installing my set today.)

The drivers side will require you to either A) remove the steering knuckle if you can. Or B) remove the motor mount and raise the motor up a bit. Either way works, but they don't slip up there at all. The passenger side is a breeze, especially if you have the starter off!

Yeah, I bought mine from QTP too. Barry is a supercool guy to talk to. He's VERY enthusiastic about these cars, knowledgable, and eager to help.

QTP makes these I thought they get them from the same supplier as Roger Grott got them from, QTP just welds on the emmision fittings. Kinda a false statement.
Correct me if Im wrong. Thunder has the same header without the emmisions.

Who said QTP makes them? I, at least, said that QTP carries them. QTP gets them from the same guy that Roger G used to get them from. They are the very same header (NOT the same Y-pipe though.)

The gots were the first set of headers made for the ls1 and many of todays designs are based off of them. they fit very well and were quite pricy 675 iirc when they were made. ARH and other brands are stainless but as far as fitment goes you wont get much better than the grots
