Default Feedback about LME Performance for building forged boost shortblocks?

Was talking to one of the main guys at LME (Late Model Engines) and he gave me a very fair quote on a forged 346 LS6 BOOST MOTOR. They seem like a top notch shop from what i have seen but i do not have a lot of knowlege about them on a first hand basis.

I take it these guys build a very reliable stout forged 347 LS6 motor. Please let me know your experience with the shop regarding quality control, workmanship, customer service and standing behind their products!!

LME is one of the best engine builders around. They built the motor in my car, 11.0:1 compression, small solid roller, etc.. that went 8.9s first pass ever at 3100lbs. They do awesome work.

Pecos is the old MTI Machinist so he has a top notch for quality like MTI does.

LME did mine , as well as a couple of my customer's engines , and I would definitely not hesitate to use them again , that is for sure .

Great shop, they even took the time to call me when a hurricane was heading their way to let me their plan for the storm, and when they'd be in touch. Great customer service.

Don't you hate that?

SJM has been the only place that I have dealt with that actually calls/writes back and makes good on thier delivery dates.

while not a boosted motor, LME did build my 408 and did an astounding job on it. They have built the motors for a number of fast cars out there. Steven Fereday (8.2x @ 170+ turbo car), Bluegoose (8.7x nitrous car), Chris Powell, Jason Thornhill (9.1-9.2ish nitrous car)

I have some pictures of my shortblock at http://www.cepheid.org/~kris/new%20motor/

I ordered my motor about a month and a half ago, and it only took them 3.5 weeks to get it to me.

I second that...I'm also in the business for a shortblock and recently spoke with them...They are very knowledgeable and courtious...Bryan had no problem answering each and every one of my questions promptly with an intelligent answer....My thoughts is that these guys are very proficient in what they do...

Jim I would look at some closer shops before ordering engine all the way from Texas you still need to account for freight and have someone put it in. Talk to Dan at FLP and he can get you a price on a nicely built LS6 short block and no freight charge.

I have talked at length with Bryan about having them build my 14:1 compression N2O motor. I know its not an FI setup, but the promptness and professionalism they have is unreal. I have talked to numerous other builders and all I have recieved is a major run around. When I get the rest of my parts that I need, LME will be getting the build even though they are over 1K miles from me
