Default Will LS1 work with LT1 T56??????????

Ok guys this is one of my problems, I have alot of miles on my 95 Z28 LT1 T56. But I can get a BRAND NEW vette's LS1 for a cheap price. So Iam wondering if I could keep my LT1 T56 trans and get that LS1 engine to work properly. Thanks

i dont think so, i know the bellhousing's are different, but im not sure of the internals. i know the lt1 t56 used clutch forks to engage, and the ls1 t56's are hydraulic...for lack of better words.

The internals are all the same except for the front cover of the t-56 and the input shaft (4th gear), the bell housings , clutch, and master slave cylinder are also different.

The front cover and input shaft are outrageous expensive. You are better off selling your lt1 trans and buying a used ls1 trans.

Input shaft for a ls1 is also the 4th gear, its only $178.00 the front cover on the case should be less than $200.00,(new). I bet you could get a used one for less. I dont know of a junk yard to sell you just these parts, but if you can get a deal on the trany buy it , then sell it.
