It's the internet. Most info compiled here came from someone who knows someone or whatnot.

If you want to make it worth while have lloyd elliot do your heads or better yet buy some heads from him

But to answer your question with just the cam 1.6's and exhaust I'd say aournd 340 give or take a little

I was going to say something along those lines. Cant beat a custom cam for any setup.

DOn't get me wrong, i would LOVE to get LE heads, that will be NEXT on my list after the cam. Hopefully after that (with heads that flow well with that cam) I'll be making close too 400 with all my bolt ons.

Any other suggestions? This will be going on a brand new, never fired up LT1. Not rebuild. Just brand new, oil has never been in the block. Just sitting in my neighbors garage. I can't wait!

I ran the cc503 for about a year before I went to my cc306 with my LE2 heads. It is a great cam, I loved it, had pretty much the mods you are talking about, had MAC mids, borla catback, 1.6rr's and stockheads. On a rich mail order tune it put down 336rwhp and 340rwtq. It ran great, no surging whatsoever with the 6 speed and it pulled like crazy through the rpm range.

WOw that sounds GREAT!!! Thanks for tuning iN! That sounds really cool to me, now If i were to keep that cam, what LE head package should I go with? That would still be great for a dailey driver, but be still powerful as hell!

And with your current cam? How much power are you making??

With the cc306 and the LE2 heads I made the numbers in my sig on a very rich A/F of 10.1. With a dyno tune I am confident it would make around the 400 range. I know a member on f-body.com that had the cc503 and then went with Lloyd's LE1 heads and he made 373rwhp which is a very nice number. I have sold my cc306 and am going to be using a custom grind Joe O cam with my 381 stroker that is in the works.

I can say that the cc306 is a very different animal to the cc503, it only really comes to live after 3000rpm, and pulls all the way up to 6500 where it made the most power in my combo.

is the CC503 the same thing as the XE224/230?

Or what are the specs on it?

oh so a cc306 is more aggresive then the cc503?

I guess I should take a look at the specs. I'm basically looking for something more aggresive then my cam now.

Specs:
218in @ .050
224ex @ .050
495 in lift w/1.5
503 ex lift w/1.5
112 LSA

It's a comp cam, i'm running it with crane 1.6 rockers and springs.

Maybe I should jump to the cc306? Is that do able with stock heads?

If not I'll stick with the cc503/springs/ and then switch to LE heads when I can.

your not going to make 400 with that cam and heads.
to get there your going to need a pretty big cam. most likely a custom.
what do you want out of the car?

The cc306 is quite a bit bigger than the cc503 (XE224/230). Not sure what you are talking about borninatransam? The hotcam is the mildest you listed. The cc503 is a bit more agressive than the hotcam and the cc305, like said it is a good daily driver. The cc306 is compareable to the GM847 and close to the LE2 cam. The cc306's specs are 230/242. Having run both, the cc503 is IMO a great daily driver. My cc306 has quite a bit of surging below 2000rpm. It is really up to you with what you want to do. A custom grind is always a great route to go if you have the money and know where you are headed. If you are keeping your stock heads, I am not sure if a custom grind is the way to go, as it looks like you want to change your heads down the road (then you will maybe want a bigger cam matched to the heads). The cc503 might not get you to 400rwhp, something bigger is then way to go. You could always talk to Lloyd and get the LE2 cam and then later get the heads to boot and you should easily see 400 with the supporting mods. Just my .02

Ok. Well I think it would be a good idea for me to go with the cc503 cam for now with springs and such. Later I would probably go with the Le1 or LE2 heads. I should talk to him. Now I want to run nitrous as well. Would this be a good setup for a wet kit for a 100-150 shot?
