ss3600 or ss4000 for this application?
I have recently swapped a 2001 Silverado 5.3L into a 2002 Chevrolet s-10. It has the following modifications:
LS1 Intake manifold
Short tube headers
Cold Air Intake
2.5 Y pipe to Single 3.5" exhaust (no Cats)
ASP underdrive pulleys
Comp 216/220 .525/.532 114LSA
Custom tuning VIA HP Tuners and Nelson Performance.
NOS 125HP Wet kit.
NEW 4L60E
Transgo HD-2 Shift Kit
Corvette servo
3.73 Rear Axel
3800lbs W/driver
Mickey Thompson Drag radials.
This is a street strip truck that does absolutely no towing. It is not daily driven. I am looking to achieve about a 3600rpm stall I have a stock converter now. Streetability is not a big concern.
Best N/A time (only 2 N/A passes so far)
60' - 2.019
1/4 - 13.55
MPH - 103.43
Best N20 Time (progressive 100shot)
60' - 1.99
1/4 - 12.59
MPH - 113.99
What converter would you recommend.

The reccomendation by yank was SS3600 due to the tracition issues that s-10's have. more drag oriented would probably just spin off the line. I am not hugly concerned with sreet driving but i do a bit of highway so it must lock up. I am sure this converter will be great.

Why not a Pro Yank or something more drag oriented?

An SS is the way to go. He is spraying it. the py is to tight of a convertor.
I talked with yank for awhile, and they are the ones who suggest to get my ss4000

I would have gone with a more Nitrous / race converter such as:
PRO YANK 3600 EXTREME
258mm, Posi Lock-Up Clutch w/Kevlar Linings, 6 bolt mounting lugs , lightweight billet cover, 3600 stall, 2.30 STR
