Default Need some opinions on rods

Im in the process of gathering parts for a S/C build. Im gonna run some Mahle dished pistons that should put me about 9.5 to 1 CR. Ive been looking at the Scat forged I beam rods(because their fairly cheap) I will go with a ARP 2000 bolt instead of the 8740's for added strength. Am I pissing in the wind with these rods? Will they support 600+ RWHP?

The Scat is a Chinese made rod. Some people have had good luck with them but I prefer to buy American made products so I use the Lunati Pro Mod rods that I know will support over 600 hp.

Dustin, I'd look at the Callies Compstar rods or the new Eagle LS1 specific rods. Both are on-center and would work well for your application. The Callies rods come with ARP 2000 bolts standard and it's an upgrade for the Eagles.

Are you sure about that, I thought all eagle made products were made in the USA?

we use the Callies Compstar rods, got them in a 800+rwhp turbo vette, a 700+rwhp nitrous fed vette, many other applications. we use these in almost all of our engine builds.

I've seen several turbo mustangs with SCAT & Eagle H-beam rods in the 1000-1200 rwhp range with standard ARP bolts 7/16" - both run in the $350-400 range.

If you want full piece of mind, spend another $120 on L-19 bolts and should be good to 1200-1400hp

Well, I decided to go with some Eagle H-beam rods with the ARP 2000 upgrade, I got them at a good price, and feel they will be stronger than the Scats.
Tahnks for the help.
