Has any of you guys ever had a 3:90 gear in a 6-speed car. If so how did you like it and would you recomend it. Because I am really needing some more down low for those mustangs w/t 4:10s and 3:73s.

I never heard of that ratio in a GM car. It sounds like a Ford Gear.

4.10s. Just get 4.10s. You get the acceleration and don't lose any top end.

I dont think they make 3.90 gears for the 10 bolt but when I get my 12 bolt I am going with 3.90 gears.

I looked on summit, and the smallest GM 3.90's were 8.5" rearends.

I have 3.90's in a 12 bolt and you can probably hear them whine where you are. They are loud as hell. I'd go with 4.10's or 3.73

That is pretty stupid to think that 3.90 gears will be any louder than any other ratio gears. The reason yours whine is because its a 12 bolt, the extra noise is a normal thing for aftermarket rear-ends because they were made for performance not to be nice and quiet like stock ones.

wow i didnt know strange had 4.10s for the 2-series carrier either.
