Order some amsoil 5w40 euro from a dealer, its fast and easy. Otherwise look for mobil1 turbo diesel 5w40. Failing that, maybe do a 4 quarts to 2 quars mix of M1 3w30 / M1 15w50.

Anyone here know about Lubriplate? I know that they make heavy duty oils. My dad is a distributor at his parts store in Indiana.

I run Mobil1 15w50 in my 402, I used to run the Mobil1 0w40 in the 346. Ed Curtis recommends the 15w50 for aggressive driving coupled with the K&N Oil filter.

True but there is some fact in this. I guess that GC does very well in oil analysis which shows that it is working well. some people get slapping with the thinner mobil 1's so that would make it not a good choice for you if you have that problem.

well, right now i am running 4qts 5w30 and 2 qts 15w-50 EP, and the engine seems to love it, quick pressure, and dosent drop low when in hot heavy traffic. I have around 3k miles on the oil now, and will go to 10k and do an oil analysis to see how well it did.

(btw, I too could not find the m1 5-40 anywhere or even the 0-40, so that is why I am trying something a little different)

I've often wondered if you might be able to mix oil weights for some positive affect............... I've got 4 qts. of RP 10w-30 on the shelf along w/ 2 qts. of RP 30 wt., hmmmmm......

the Castrol Syntec 5w40 "made in Belgium" is good stuff too. I just got some at my local Auto Zone so you may wanna try that. Second choice would probably be M1 0w40.

I use a quart of M1 15-50 and top it off with M1 10-30 and that has suited me the best so far.

i dont know bout you guys, but it seems like all the piston slap, and oil consumption that everybody talks about, it seems as though everybody was running mobil 1!! i was running castrol gtx 10w-30 on my old 2000 z28 and i never heard a piston slap, or any oil consumption.. which is why i was wondering is synthetic really better?

The K&N oil filter has worked very well for me in both my car and my wife's car. Oil analysis results back up the fact that it does an excellent job.

Default not for me at all

like i said at start up when the car sets for over 1 day it will have a tick if i use the k&n in both my 01 ls1 and my 03 3.8 (grand prix gtp). on the ls1 i whent back to just a ac delco and nothing at start up at all, the gtp i put a fram on it and it did the same thing, i had to go back to the ac delco with that also. at first i thought it was the penzoil so i whent back to the m1 syn, but still did it.
