Question San Antonio Hotel Recommendations Anyone??

I'm trying to find a nice hotel somewhere on, or near the riverwalk to take the gf to for a weekend get away. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

I've checked Expedia and places like that, but thought i'd ask here to see if anyone knew of a good place.

My wife and I stay at the Emily Morgan every year when we go up to San Antonio for our Music Educator's conference. The rooms are nice (especially the suites), the staff is very courteous and it's within walking distance from the River Center and the Riverwalk. It's right next door to The Alamo.

I hear the Menger is very nice too, but we haven't stayed there.

I would have to say the Marriott as well. Right now the city is in a legal battle over websites like Expedia holding out on some money. We'll see how that goes.

westin valencia or menger

menger is a lot more romantic, westin being more contemporary and valencia being a mix b/t southwest and contemporary. any would be a good choice, a nice romantic weekend i would definetly go with menger though due to its historic look.

Another vote for the Menger. It has a classical look and feel. Right next door to the alamo and right across the street from Pat O'brians and the riverwalk.

Alright it's a done deal. I went with the Hotel Valencia. I kinda liked the contemporary theme, and being right there on the river walk.

FYI: Don't book online, I saved $50 per night by calling the reservation office. They gave me some kind of promotional price, which was awesome!
