To everyone who knocks Fuzions...
Check this out... Right lane...
This was with a 4000 converter, on 245/50/16 Firestone Fuzions. Nobody had better ever tell me again about how bad these tires fare at the strip. Learn to drive your damn car, and anything is possible.

Track prep was almost non-existent. This was a test-n-tune night guys. I cut that pass after the truck in front of me drug water all up in the box. I roasted the Fuzions good and let 'er rip.
I regularly cut 1.95's on them long before the converter.
I don't know why people won't recognize that this tire can hook if you know how to do it.

I bought a full set of fuzions for another 95 Z28 that I owned. The tires looked nice, price was right and the tread pattern looked like it would give you good grip but I have to tell you that I have never been so nervous since the time I lost control of a fuel tanker on ice.
I was caught in a rain storm on an express way. The concrete lane had two strips of standing water right where a billion tires have traveled. The car was on ball bearings until I got off the section of road. The tire people warned me that these weren't all weather tires when I bought them. I didn't fully understand what that meant until now.
I have never driven an expressway with standing water in the lanes before so I know this isn't the norm but aside from drag strip performance or perfect weather driving, I'll be hanging my fuzions up.

For what it's worth, the car in the left lane is ele-blue95. He was on 315 Sumitumos, and he KNOWS how to launch his car, and you see what kind of 60's he was cutting. That gives you some kind of idea about the track conditions.
Gimme some practice with the aforementioned 6speed car though, and I bet I could surprise you.
Thanks for having such a kickass site, BTW.

last year i was cutting 1.8x 60's on 275 Fuzions in my stock geared M6 Formula.
but that was also at MIR, one of the best hooking tracks on the east coast. at Richmond and Dinwiddie i couldnt cut anything below a 2.1 60'.
the tires are good tires, they lasted a while and hooked ok on the street too. i might get them again in the future if i do back to street tires

111mph in a 4k stall SI car is strong..like he said you just got to learn how to drive your car and get it out of the hole..
