Default What exactly do o2 simms do?

As the post says what exactly do o2 simms do? Are there any draw backs to using them? I ask because I was going to put them in the rear o2 sensors even though i still have cats because they are much cheaper than the 02 sensors?

There are 4 O2 sensors on our cars. The rear ones monitor the emissions output of the cats.

The Sims replace the rear O2's alowing you to run without cats.

Does this mean that if you run gutted cats on long tube headers that you could still pass a computer emmissions check because you won't throw any codes?

That's true, you'll pass the computer emissions test, just hope the shop doesn't use a sniffer as well! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
