MAF screen removal. Is the only way to cut?
I was thinking of going back to the stock MAF (based on recent posts in the computer section). I was told that all you do is take an exacto (sp?) knife and cut it out. Is the only / best way.
Thanks,
Bill

Remove the end. Put 1/2" of liquid-type
(not the jelly type) paint stripper in
a dish. Set the end in there, screen down,
overnight. Cover with aluminum foil.
Next day, the epoxy the screen's bedded
in will be softened, and you can run an
X-acto between it and the body, the whole
thing will come out intact if you're neat.
This way, you can put it back in again if
you choose with a little JB. When I got
mine out it was still clean & tight enough
that it would stay in by friction when I
put it back (just playing). I did this on
a used MAF I got pretty cheap ($40 I think).
