Default Taking the bloody engine out the top now...

Its down to the block. Now I am unbolting the tranny from the engine.

It seems like its just those 13mm bolts that are connecting the bellhousing to the engine? am I correct?

so I just jack the tranny up and unbolt all them. Then pull the engine out?

All the grounds are off as well.

EDIT - I just read to unbolt the tranny from the bellhousing instead? is that the way to do it? I am also reading about some dowel pins that are there to be a pain in the ***?

Sorry for all the questions

You unbolt the gearbox of the bellhousing. Once the gearbox is gone, you can then unbolt the bellhousing from the engine. Replace in opposite order.

Yes, you will need about 2 feet of extention for your ratchet to get the top bolt for the gearbox and bellhousing.

The ratchet is almost back by the shifter hooked onto the extentions pointing towards the front of the car.

Disconnect the wiring from the trani. Drain the ATF from the trani, be ready for some more to leak out the output shaft, maybe cap it or wrap a rag around it. Prolly remove the shifter.

Use a jack to support the trani. It is heavy! Careful not to let it slam to the ground, especially the input or output shaft.

May the force be with you!

You can get to the top bolt with a wrench. You will prolly have to take the balancer off and turn the engine to the side a bit to get it out, but I still think its easier than dropping it from the bottom.

Aight I got 7 of the 8 bolts out. The last one on the passenger side all the way up top is an absolute bitch. What the hell is that bolt holding in? looks like a dipstick tube or something? I cant get that ****** out for the life of me.

it is just holding the breather tube for the tranny. But it is still bolted through to the bellhousing. You don't have to remove it completely, just make sure it is loose from the bellhousing.

If you haven't already, let down the rear of the transmission with a jack, it is usually relatively easy to get to with a long extension.

Unbolt the tranny mount with a jack underneath it, it will tilt the engine, just do it enought to be able to get to the bolt. That should do it.

Edit: You'll have to take the fron of the torque arm out of the mount, the rear end will drop, but you can hold the arm and slowly let it rest in the tunnel.
