Default WTF is Z51???

I saw Nine Ball has an 05 Corvette Z51 listed as one of his many, many bad *** toys. I've googled Z51 Corvette, but I can't find any specifics. The articles just say something generic like "with the optional Z51 package, the Corvette's performance is increased to an even higher level." SO what does the package actually consist of? Thanks

Performance Package, performance-oriented package for the Gymkhana/Autocross enthusiast, includes power steering, engine oil and transmission coolers, stiffer springs and stabilizer bars, specific shock absorbers, larger brakes with cross-drilled rotors, specific tires and Z51 specific 6-speed manual when ordered with 6-speed manual transmission (Z51)

Buckeye is correct. Its basically the package that GM marketed on the C6 as a replacement for the C5 Z06, while everyone was waiting on the C6 Z06. Its a handling, cooling, and braking package with a more aggressive 1st gear tranny.

The only visible cue is the cross-drilled front and rear rotors, as the standard C6s have non-drilled ones.

Thanks. So then, other than the hood, what's the difference between the 05 Z51 and the 06 Z06?

Do you mean appearance wise? The side vents in front of the rear tires, the little spoiler on the back is like an inch taller and of course the Z06 badging.

also the rear fenders are about an 1-1/2' wider too allowing for the 335's to fit underneath.

then the motor is a 7.0L 427" "ls7" motor.

One's a nice car, the other you'd step over your own mom to get.

I didn't realize you couldn't get the Z06 with a targa top.
