What should I pay for installation of heads/cam?
Like the title says, if I buy cylinder heads, camshaft, timing chain, and neccessary gaskets, what should I reasonably expect to pay for someone to install them? Don't suggest ls1howto.com. I can and would find a way to break my motor no matter how simple the job supposedly is.
Car is a 2002 A4 corvette.
Thanks in advance!

Depending on where you take it and the Labor rate, I would venture to guess between $700-1000. Some mechanics are faster than others and obviously labor rates differ to. Just make sure the mechanic know's WTF he is doing or you will be building a new motor like me (last year) dumb **** didn't use thread lock on the cam bolts...needless to say it wasn't good!!

Try joining a local or regional F-body or LS1 club. I joined a club in a city near me and as it turns out a member of it is also an ASE Master mechanic. He is going to end up doing mine for me in his free time. But I think $1000 for a GOOD head/cam install with all the needed parts is about right. Add another $300-$400 for a good tune on top of that. You could try calling up a speed shop in your area and asking who they reccommend, or, try calling a Chevy dealership and ask to talk to the head of the mechanic department and see who/where he reccommends.
