Should I only run the graphite gasket that GM makes or would it be ok to run a mls commettic gasket (slightly thinner to get the compression where I want it) . I was told about the recess in the castings of the head and am just curious as to if I can get away with it.

2002 motor, ported polished 853 heads milled .030, MS v3 cam, 2.02 and 1.60 vavles. (yes flycut piston's as well).
