My First Kill - 350Z!
Once the sun went down out here in northern Cali it was time to go cruise with the top down. Perfect weather. Since barely a week into the new car, I was going to find a side street and practice my launching a little bit...since practice makes perfect
I was on the way home on a one lane 'main' street following a 350Z convertible. I know it's heavier, but I'm also a convertible (if you didn't figure that out yet), so it evens things out. I know the road fairly well and was hoping he would jump out once it split into 2 lanes.
Of course he did so I followed as we passed the slower traffic on the left.....just to catch a light that I always catch, and you know I had to pull up next to him. It was an older guy so I wasn't sure if he was going to run it, but I was ready. Once the light went green he took off and had a quarter car on me. I spun a little, just enough to put me in the nice power range. By the end of 1st I was even with him and saw him shift. I did right after him and continued to pull a car by the end of 2nd when I let off because of an upcoming light. It was such a rush. I'm glad my first race was something worthwhile.
After that he stayed behind me, bowing down to the American muscle. I don't have times yet, but will be running it on the 21st of this month.

Good kill, way to show those older guys they should have went American muscle if they weren't planning on modding. Hearing about you cruising around with the top down makes me miss my license even more, I imagine going to the beaches down here in SoCal everyday with the t-tops off. 84 more days to go!

LT1's run 14.0's at well over 100MPH, they will kill a 350Z from a dig or a roll.

^I agree with you to a point. All if not most magazines show 13.9 and some 14.0 mostly at 101mph. My boss had a 94 Z28 with a reflash, exhaust, and some intake. He only had me by maybe a full car from 20-110 or so. When we raced from 60-135 I was maybe a half a car behind and at about 120 I started coming up on him but we hit traffic. Between the two cars it's a drivers race.

Not cocky either, the first car I 'raced' was my good friend in his Mustang. He beat me by about 2 cars and he normally runs mid 13s. We were just messin around though

Here we go again with this lt1 debate. LT1 are not faster than 350z's. If you dont believe it, take a close look:

Or how about

These are two stock cars, running to over 120. Not even close.

^That's really cool of you haha. But it's going to be hard to say considering were talking stock for stock. I know you said you'll give the jump but you know what I mean. I'm not being stubborn or arrogant either.

oh i know its not a bid deal i would like to see if theres a big difference now since i just rebuilt the motor in march and got it installed in april with all the mods listed..... we raced sometime in late january so i wouldnt mind seeing if how effective my mods were also
i also have no doubt 350Z's can be fast my first car was a 1978 datsun 280z that i still have it just needs a ton of work..... when i got my Trans Am i was also looking at 350Z's..... first i have to convince my bro to do it though my parents are on a cruise in europe and hes kinda being a ***** "we shouldnt race mom's car while shes gone"..... im sitting here like WTF youd rather do it while she is here and we could get caught than while shes gone.... lol he will do it just gonna take me about 15 minutes of BS'ing him to get him to go
