Default AC box removal

Any tips on removing the AC box? I'm wanting to get rid of it but still keep the heater core in place. Does anyone make a plate to do this?

It's kinda all one unit I think. I removed everything. The heater core is kinda "in" the box.

Check out FRRAX for this mod, pretty cool how one dude cut out some stuff to get the weight out but he has heat.

MOST that want to keep heat will just end up removing under hood equipment and keep the interior stuff b/c it is all one (fan motor etc....)

It's a job... Might be easier to just go with an aftermarket heater. Look for my user name over there and the term hvac. You'll find the post about it.

After you get through the notes and the pics, give me a holler if you have more questions...

yes ,I cut part of the front to allow the air from the fan to travel thru some where someone has cut theres flush but had to modify the inside .The way I did mine looks good and has plenty of room to get to the rear plugs easy.

I am gonna try somethign a little differnet, not sure it if will work out... but what I plan to do is get a small radiator/tranny cooler, something like that, and run the hoses from the water pump to it. I lan tomount it somehow inside inder the dash, and attach a small fan or 2 to pull air off it, or blow air thru it thru the vent hole in the center of the transam dash at the windshield... it's pretty much so I have a defroster for those cool damp nights that I take my car out to a car show so the windshield doesn't fog up. I plan to make a shorud out of foam or some type of plastic so the air is forced thru the dash vent.

I'll post up pic's and how it works out after I get it done.
