Looking at starting mods for a noob...reccomendations?
My car is bone stock besides a new air filter. I'm looking at some things to get the mods rolling.
Overall what would you guys say is the best "bang for your buck" headers and exhaust setups? I've been looking at Pacesetter longtubes, are they any good?
Thanks for any reccomendations

first you should figure out how much money you have to spend and go from there. why get the borla...its over priced and sounds like crap with headers. go to ls1sounds.com for exhaust sounds. do you have to worry about emissions...ect.

Pacesetters are an affordable option. Not the best but not crappy either.
As for a Catback, look into the Magnaflow. $300 for a stainless stright through 3" catback.
Or True duals are pretty sweet.

"True duals" is a type of exhaust the has one pipe for each side of the engine instead of both pipes merging into one.
Your 1st mod should be a nice catback exhaust. Spend some time here to find out what type of sound you're looking for. www.ls1sounds.com
The SLP "loudmouth" and the "TSP Rumbler" (Texas Speed & Performance) are cheaper than all others and sound pretty cool. They run in the $370 dollar range.

Lid is a lid is a lid, get one that fits your budget, and/or you like the look of, they're all the same as far as hp increase
Exhaust for the budget minded pacesetter armor coated are a good buy, along with a Y pipe (catted or not depends on your emissions inspection requirements) for those on a bigger budget the kooks stainless steel headers and Y are a good choice, round it out with a nice catback, what you buy is dependant on if you like it loud, or prefer a quieter sound.
Once you figure out your budget, emissions and sound likes/needs, we can better help you in choosing the right combination

Don't want to sound like an *** but there is a ton of info on free mods and different exhaust setups out there under the sticky's or by using "search". Just spend some time reading about the different mods and try to figure out what exactly you are looking to get out of your setup. You should find enough reading material to keep you busy for days.
