Oem Starter of High Torque?
I just replaced my starter a month ago with a GM remanufactered piece, because they don't carry new ones anymore. Well it just went out and now I'm on the fence with going with another GM piece or an aftermarket high torque one. Where and what kind of high torque starters are available for my 94TA that has a 383 SuperRam LT1 with 10:8:1 compression. Thanks

my friends have no problem turning over their strokers with the stock units and they have around 11:1-11:3 ish compression.
Correct me if Im wrong, but IIRC the F-bodies and B-bodies use the same Starter. Looks like this:
Now all 92-96 Vettes use the same Starter. It's smaller, lighter, and provides more torque for starting engine. Only thing us B-body guys need to do is stretch the starter power wire a little since it comes up a little short. Also you need longer bolts to attach starter to engine.
