they say its good for 10-12 hp...i dont have one but they say if you plan on doing any other mods its a good one to have.....maybe someone else will chime in. Its not cheap but nothing is.

put a converter in the car first, and you wont be mad about the auto.
The LS6 is not a bad mod, but costly.
I will do one on my 98 WS6 sometime, but i will do that, !egr, !air, ect at the same time.

its a good mod, prices are coming down,, and autos are consistent,, real consistent ,, especially with a stall ,, <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />

put a good torque converter into that transmission
and you'll be glad that you have an a4, and put a good hurtin' on similarly modded m6's.
As for the LS6 intake you'll eventually reach a point of where the LS1 intake becomes a restrictor and opt for the better intake. What makes it better is not so much the lack of the egr sensor, but the pcv system for the LS6 is much more efficient than the LS1. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

IMO, an LS6 intake is not a worthwhile investment on a bolt-on car. With H/C I think it is worth it. My .02

I am putting one on my car with a cam, so wait till you got all the bolt ons, then you will really like it. Do a converter and stomp some of us m6s light to light

I don't think there is a "best" converter. You have to think about your mods, planned mods and pick a converter accordingly. If you are a bolt on car, I would think a 2800 Vig would do you real good. Don't know how much they are as I am an M6 guy but check some of the sponsors. As far as install price goes, do yourself a favor and do it yourself. You'll save a lot of money and learn more about the car.

Then torque it down in the following pattern.

Re: LS-6 Intake...Is it worth it to replace the LS-1 stock intake?
First off, there is nothing wrong with an A4. It is a great, consistant performer at the track. The A4 is even more fun with a TransGo, so it can be manually shifted and held gear-wise to any RPM. Put a set of 3.73's in there with a higher stall and look out.
Next the LS6 intake! I just order one from SLP with their EGR mod since I would like to stay "legal". Since your car is a 98 like mine, you can by-pass and cap-off the EGR system or modify it. I just went with the SLP one since it is a direct bolt-on. No fuss, no muss. But, I don't know if you were going to get a MAF to go with it but read the thread in this section of the forum that I am just about to start just incase you have a HPP3. I found out something somewhat interesting.

it changes line pressure by keeping stronger spring pressure through its use of larger checkballs, resprung shift plates and replacing the pistons in the accuator and selenoids.
the soft feel during gear change is a factory comfort setting which gets recalibrated.

Re: LS-6 Intake...Is it worth it to replace the LS-1 stock intake?
I believe that the LS6 intake was my first major mod. I did it before headers, and exhaust. And I noticed it big time in 3rd gear. I got a higher mph before I had to shift to fourth. Might of just been me. But hey everyone has opinions.

I just did the LS6 intake on my 98 I picked up 10 HP from it. I have almost all the bolt-ons now just need an ASP pully yet. My numbers are in my sig. While I was in there I also replaced the Valley cover w/ a LS6 one for the improved PCV system. For $40 its a worthwhile mod if you have some oil consumption w/ your engine.

True indeed! The 01-02 f-bodies did come with the LS6 intake.
And to X']['C WS6, I know what the purpose and main function of the TransGo is, but I was just pointing out that have an A4 is not a bad thing. I just wanted to state that the TransGo will allow you to safely shift manually - making the A4 a little more fun to drive, that's all!
