Default Domed vs Flat top Pistons

I'm looking at putting a forged 347 together and was checking out Dimond Pistons last night. It looks like with there flat top LS1 pistons cr would be about 10.5 with 62cc heads, but with the domed pistons and the same heads cr should be around 12.2 and if I went to 66cc heads I'd be at 11.5 cr with the domes. What kind of limitations are there in running domed pistons?

Right now I'm have a G5X3 and was possibly thinking about going to something a little bigger like the G5X4 or maybe the new MS4. I still haven't figured out exactly what I want to do as far as heads, but the likely hood of me spending $2k+ for AFR's is slim to none so let's leave those out of equation.

This is just a newbie shot in the dark, but I'd say that domed pistons would increase the CR at the expense of PTV clearance.

Dido. Flame travel for effiecent burn is the last great "black magic" area left. Nothing like a 14 to 1 engine with dish pistons to make big power!!

Not so sure about that.. the limit of 93 octane is all about your dynamic comp ratio.. I run 11.3 Static, and my cam gives me about 8.3 DCR

Well it's a little more than just DCR, but at least you understand a lot more than he does.
