Need I say this again?

Would you rather have a SHORT *****, or a long one?

If emissions are not a worry, then go with LTs. Most states that require emissions testing also require a cat(s) in stock location(s)...LTs move the oem cat placement, BUT if this is not a concern, then go with LTs...I dropped 2 tenths on the mustang dyno switching from shorties to Kooks stepped LTs...If you go with LTs save and get the Kooks, you won't be sorry...

Long's are the ideal choice for the most HP gain.
Short's shouldn't even cross your mind, unless your getting them for next to nothing, cause money is always the focal point.
If you can't put on Longs ( for emissions , but ive seen people pass w/ them on ) I'd
recommend a nice set of Coated Mids.

Definitely Longs, .... maybe mids. NEVER shorts.

i installed shorties on my t/a because its lowered and it wont scrape like long tubes. my friends 99 camaro ss has slp long tubes with being lowered already worn through the bottom of the headers. long story short, if you plan on lowering it at some point and don't won't to bother with putting headers on again(which is a royal pain in the a$$) i would go with the shorties. plus shorties come with a y-pipe.

well long tubes will always give more low torque whereas shorties will yield high rpm horsepower......long tubes create a pressure wave that helps scavenge and pull in more a/f mixture during your valve overlap you would also get some gains by tuning the collector .......what you do is take a grease pencil and draw a straight line down the collector make a pass at the track at the point that the marking stops melting cut the collector at that point if it is melted all the way down you need to add length to the collector but at that point the collector will be tuned to your engine.....btw this is old school stuff....also make sure to measure the exhaust port on the head do not get a set of headers with primary size much bigger than that port.....ishould also add that this only works with open headers as far as tuning the collector
