My first encounter with an 05/06 Stang
Was on the way back home with the woman, dog, and the rest of the car was loaded down with their stuff. Saw a yellow stang with black racing stripes up in the distance so I decided to catch up and see if it was a GT. Sure enough it was. It actually said GT 300 at the bottom of the door, not sure what thats all about. Anyway slowed down to about 60 beside the Stang and the woman gave me the ok to race. He didn't look like he wanted to run but after a little bit I see his front end lift and he takes off. I put it to the floor and pulled about a car and a half on him up to 90 when I had to shut down for traffic ahead. Not the best of races but my first on in a long time. And now I finally know what I can do against the new stangs.

good kill. "GT 300"... my best guess is "Mustang GT with only 300 hp Stock...something GM hit with its F-body in 1998"... To each their own. Kinda seems like the "Hemi" label? But then again, we have the Trans Am, well, in your case "Z" label. To each their own.

Ford dealerships will do all sorts of things to sell a car, the most popular at my former dealership was the fake GT fog-lamps (distinguishable b/c they are smaller than the headlights and the real GT ones look like another set of headlights) but hell, they sold.

Nice kill, I really like those new 'Stangs. I've yet to run into one that isn't a V6... with the aforementioned appearance package.

I raced a stage 1 Roush, the new style, and it wasnt really all that fast. i killed him obviously, but he said he could take me if i was stock. Yeah Right...... But, i must say, i rode in it, and i dont like Mustakes. but, i think it was a very nice car, and should be for $40k.

That "package" everyone is referring to is a Ford factory option for the 06+ Mustang V6. It's called the "Pony package", and includes the grill update with a corral around the pony emblem with horizontal chrome bars, and the smaller fog lights. Also includes upgraded wheels/tires, rear spoiler, and rocker panel stripes with the name M U S T A N G spelled out at the begining of the stripes. I think there is also some difference in the interior, but I'm not sure what. It's all reminicent of the original 1965/66 Pony package that was available on that era Mustangs.
