Bolt Reuse - LS1 Rebuild
I'm in the process of rebulding my LS1 on a tight budget. I know the head bolts and harmonic balancer bolt cannot be reused, are there any others? Specifically, can the bolts from the main be reused?

I was going to go stock head bolts with mine, then I though about it and figured:
"Do it once, do it right" and I got head studs. I'm not sorry I did, I just remembered how nice it is to swap heads and not have to deal with cleaning bolt holes.

why cant i reuse head bolts
i dont understand the concept of not being able to reuse a bolt. i understand that they stretch. but that does not explain why i cannot reuse them. is the strength gone from them? if that were the case, than the strength would be gone as soon as you stretched them. is it because they cannot be properly torqued again? why can i not just retorqe them to a specific torque and be done with it?

IMO the 50 bucks for new studs is cheap insurance.
