Default Any reputable tranny shops in GA?

I just can seem to get my tranny runnin smooth. I duno if its the Amsoil ATF i been using or what. It sometimes locks me out of 1st when im stopped and the clutch clunks around a lot. It makes a ticking noise underneath and i feel like im lifting weights to get her to shift. I was tryin to ignore it and get my rear mount up and runnin but i cant even stand to drive her its so bad.

Anyway, any decent shops out there that could at least even take a look. Im not looking for any rip off big chain places that charge $100 for a worthless "diagnostic check". Ill drive it wherever i need to to have someone get in the seat and point out whats going on. Aamco?

Im doing a ls7 clutch swap soon but i wanted to check and see if its something else before the tran comes out of the car. Hydrolics are likely gettin replaced too (slave/master to 02 style). Thanks guys

It sounds like your blockers are going out or your slave is wore out.. I would say blockers. Is first the only gear it does it in???

it also happens in 2nd sometimes. And when I get it to shift i feel like im pushin the shifter into a grind. Basically, ill be sitting at a light. Ill put it in neutral and then when i go back into first or if i row around the gears everything feels "chunky". Also, when the car is off sittin in the driveway it rows through the gears much better.

I think someone mentioned to me that clutch might not be fully disengaging. It just shifts reeeal slow. However, if i go WOT i can sometimes get it to shift decent but it vibrates more and more as I reach redline. Toolin around town it still vibrates but also wont let me smoothly enter each shift gate.

its a 99 with 59k miles. original clutch. The clutch grabs fine, its not slipping, so i feel its not a bad clutch.

DON'T use Southern Gear on the west side of I-285! F#cking theives.

You have no idea the problems I had when they rebuilt my T56. (I was ripped off and they insult you when you bring it to their attention) I use Amsoil and it is a good tranny after all the issues were resolved.

I took a picture from the brochure I have of the exact stuff in the car now. It runs flawless so I don't think it's the fluid giving you trouble. ~Joshua

We(Vengeance Racing) do T56 rebuilds. We have a GM master Tech who specializes in GM Drivelines. No ripoffs, and guaranteed to be right when you get the car back.

I didnt know Ron has a t-56 guy but I would trust Rons judgement as he is a former "how can a ***** up a t-56 this week" kinda guy!! He knows the abuse they get and I guess has found someone to do nice rebuilds. Before you give him a dime, make him let you hear his car...that bitch sounds SWEET!!!!!!!!!!
