Re: Hooker Cat-Back
It sounds very deep and throaty at idle. It's more of a traditional muscle car sound IMO. It's not very loud with stock manifolds actually. It sounds great when you stomp on it though. It's a great system for the money. Drop in some headers and it will sound nasty. The good thing is that there's no rasp or drone. I recommend them unless you're looking for something that will wake the neighbors.

Re: Hooker Cat-Back
Idle is just as unit213 described, even with lt headers. Yet it does scream at WOT. I had it before I went with true duals. It does rasp though some, but nothing like some other exhausts out there. Put a bullet muffler in the I-pipe and all your rasp worries will disappear.

Re: Hooker Cat-Back
the only thing i can say that the previous guys havent said is its also great to be able to drop the muffler off when you get to the track.

I had one and may get another soon. What all these guys say is true. Sometimes you want a loud car so just drop the muffler in 10minutes. And then you may want a quite car so just leave the muffler on.
I picked up 6rwhp by dropping the muffler, not to bad. Consider I lose 3rwhp through the duals compared to open headers.

Re: Hooker Cat-Back
I love the Hooker cat-back. It was put on at the same time the ATI was. I took a Magnaflow off to put the Hooker on.
Nice sound at a great price...

I think there is no better catback, than hooker for headers and offroad pipes

Re: Hooker Cat-Back
Your going to get about 10rwhp over the stock system. That is pretty much standard with all catbacks. The Loudmouth may free up a few more ponies because it flows better due to the resonator, actually the lack of a muffler. Catback systems are basically for appearance and sound. Performance would be best by simply installing a $30 cut out.

Re: Hooker Cat-Back
I love my hooker cat back. I just got in put on about a month ago and the tips looks good has a great deep mean rumble to it when crusing. All my friends love it and compare it to a mustang. I wouldnt mind it being a lil louder but its still sounds awsome I highly recommened it!

Re: Hooker Cat-Back
I have no complaints about my Hooker catback. Great sound, great fit and finish, and cheap.
