Default C6 Z06 vs. Camaro. *Video*

Sup gang. I met up with "Whplash" today, an LS1tech forum member. Here is a video of my C6 Z06 and his Camaro.

It was a pleasure meeting you bro. Your car is awesome. I hope that we are able to meet and have some fun times once again. Take care.

Had to be pretty close, 1st gear takes the Z06 to 60mph and it wound out a fair bit of second past that...

Anyway, I didn't notice the S/C in the mod list at first, I thought it was just a H/C LS1 which seemed right for the results, maybe it's not tuned for the S/C particular well or something. Even lousy HotRod TV got 540rwhp outta their H/C + procharger LS1 setup after tuning.

I was thinking the same thing. You would think it would be a lot closer if it was tuned properly. Although, those new Zo6's are amazing. Still, I would think a H/C + a procharger would make the LS1 trap 125 or so...

The mod list included I believe is a DS-1 which is a supercharger, unless I'm mistaking? He did have a supercharger type of cam of 216/230 xxx LSA or somthing.

Should've went turbo.

Supercharger rarely make the power you expect it to. Remember they are belt driven, so the power is more likely to lower. Plus they just dont have the top end as a turbo.

I believe, if I remember correctly, "whplash"'s Camaro dynoed 490/416 on a Mustang dyno.

Thats a pretty pitiful showing for a forged HCI D1SC LS1, the D1SC is a pretty nice sized unit and can make some real power.

Default man..

yea good kill. those new Z06s are just flat out beasts.

but i to would think an H/C+ supercharger would atleast hang alittle longer.

And turbos don't have the low end of a supercharger, especially a roots driven car. I take it you've never taken a ride in a twin screw car, no turbo can replicate that feeling. The D1SC is no joke either. Apples and oranges.

They both have their advantages.

But how in the hell did a 490 whp supercharged/h/c/i LS1 (on a mustang dyno...) lose to what is probably a 460 whp vette (dynojet). And that bad... Maybe traction?

Exactly, something doesn't seem to make sense...I'm not saying the camaro should have won, but it should have been a lot closer and not a slaughter like it was.
