Default Import/bike killing at US131 Sat nite *videos*

I posted this everywhere else and figured you guys would enjoy a turbo ls1 laying down some beatings the most so I'll copy it here too.

Got home from my interview in Lousiana and PB found this event so we put it together last minute so we could make some more test passes with the blue slug. It was an import vs domestic night at us131. We knew we were in for some fun when they told us they didn’t even have water at the line and that we had to bring our own up…but whatever no biggie. It was only 5 bucks to race so what can you do?

First pass (sorry gf had trouble with video) we realized we had to turn the boost as low as it would go and leave really soft but oh well. I hear I was pretty close to taking out the 330' marker...doh! So we turned it down and we left on 3 lbs of boost and 3400 rpm’s and it went good.
Video here:
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/4...fb99d0707c.htm

We made another good pass and they started their ‘street race’ portion of the event. The idea is that two cars line up, ask for cars, negotiate, etc and then they race and the winner comes back to race again. We had heard the fastest import at the event was mid 11’s, so I decided to talk to the guy running the event and request that the fastest bike there step up and run. Little did we know there was a hayabusa that we hadn’t seen while watching for a few hours. Ooops looks like my big mouth got me in some trouble.

So we line them up…rules are we are not allowed to move until the girl’s hands hit her thighs. He left early and I almost ran him down.
Video here:
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/2...01d5acaae6.htm

I went back to the starting line and talked some smack on the microphone and said he left early and then the rider came back and admitted he for sure left early and would run them again. We ran again and I took him by 2-3 cars.
Video here:
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/d...928c149bcf.htm

So they ran out the rest of their eliminations and we started loading the car up…then everyone came to us and wanted us to run the fast mustang there…it was like a 94-95 white GT with a 427 with a pretty big blower on it (12 rib setup, etc) I guess they had gone mid 10’s but I think it was faster. They were messing with ricers and giving them like 15 cars and what not and babying it and still winning. They didn’t want any of the blue z and were real nice guys so they let us take their place in the race.

So we had to race some eagle talon that had been whooping up on everybody. They asked for 10, we said 2, and we agreed on 6. You can see the result here:
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/7...f5a29f4160.htm

All in all, it was a blast.

No crank signal past 6700 rpm's...switched to a front mounted 24 tooth crank trigger setup.

Textron Land/Mobile. I would be working in Slidell mostly but they also have their shipyard which is on the south shore. Driving through the Irish Bayou was interesting to say the least...unreal what power water/wind can have when it gets out of control.

The new recruits said I'll hear something in a few weeks. It's still up in the air because I really like Michigan but it's a really good job so who knows.

As for the car, capable of 8's probably...but I don't have harlan's bank account so I'm going to stick to keeping it at super safe boost levels on a super safe tune and just have fun. Maybe turn it up at the end of the season or something.

I'm not too far from Monroe Katrina ran me up here. There are a few Fbodies up here, shoot me a PM if you want to meet up some time. My Fbody is down right now, but I've got a little truck that's pretty fun to mess with.

Homer great looking runs.
