Default Hooker, Magna Flow, or Mufflex?

Which cat-back should I get? I want the best sounding exhaust that has a very aggressive sound w/o the rasp but still puts out good horsepower numbers? If there is such a thing! Anyone have sound clips or dyno numbers? It's goin on a stock WS6 so it has a higher flowing exhaust. Also whichever system I get, I'm going to get some different tips so I'm up for suggestions.

I replaced my stock exhaust with Magnaflow. After a couple of years, I took that off and put the Hooker on. I like it ten times more!!

LS1BIRD, I couldnt tell what your car sounded like because of that aggrevating whining noise. You really ought to get that looked at.

Thanks for replying to my e-mail so quickly LS1 Bird. Now about that whining noise! I haven't a clue what that is ! You better get that checked out. Perhaps it could be a bearing going out in your alternator.

I haven't heard much about the mufflex exhaust! I thought it would put out some serious flow numbers. I'm talking about the spintech muffler though, not the flowmaster.

We have people replace their existing catback for the MagnaFlow all the time. It is definatly the best sounding highest flowing ex.. And the all stainless steel system, quality is top notch.

You guys are right. That whining noise in my car is loud, but since it added 140+ horsepower I'm not about to fix it!

In all fairness to Magnaflow - When I say I took off a Magnaflow to put on the Hooker, that isn't entirely accurate. I actually took off a Magnaflow muffler mated to my original pipes. That said, I do prefer the sound of the complete Hooker system to the Magnaflow sound.

Good thing there are choices since different people like different things. Now, about that loud whining noise....

Go with the Hooker, you won't be disappointed especially if you plan on getting headers, cam, etc. The sound is amazing!!!
