Default Did i loose my tranny?

hi gang,

i have a 2000 c5, built trans + yank 2800 with 14k miles and approx 18 1/4mi and 26 1/8mi passes on them. tonight i had to get towed home after a couple of spirited romps.

1-2 shift is perfect. strong solid no slippage. but once it shifts into 3rd it slips. rpms shoot up and stay up until i get to around 40-45mph then shift into od/4th. and continues to slip.

reverse, 1, and 2nd no probs.
pcm did not throw any codes.
this started on the highway during a romp.
please advise.
thanks

Yes it sounds like your 3-4 clutch is smoked or the drum broke for the clutch as cabelbandit said. If your trans is not under warrenty make sure that you get one with some added cluches for the 3-4 and a wide 2-4 band. Here is a link to our web page please check it out when you get time. www.finishlinetrans.com It has listings of the transmisssions we seel along with some info on the different levels and lists parts that we put into them. Thank you for your time,Vince.

It would be best to go through the trans front to back. I would never take a short cut on a vette. It's such PITA to do the rnr so do it right and be money ahead. We do sell built exchange uints that we ship door to door. Parts also if needed. Good luck. Vince.

gonna add another question to this thread.

could the symptoms that i posted in post 1 be caused by a shot torque converter?
