Unless this is a race car, why would you remove the carpet? I dont think the "weight savings" is worth it. What happens when people ride in your car? You really want to pick up a girl for a night out with no carpet? lol We dont drive civics man, no need to start takin the interior out to go fast

Just buy yourself a new mod. I am sure anything you do to it will make it faster than removing the carpet by itself!

Taking out the carpet and insulation would make it increadibly hot and loud inside the car. Is the car a track only car? If so then you can lose the carpet if you really want but i'd never do it on a street car.

You dont need carpet but it will make the car verrry hot like stated above, I know a few people with v6 fourth gens running 13's-12 and I beleive they both have carpet but no sound deadening, I my self took out some 30 pounds of sound deadening and the recycled news paper badding from my rear cargo area. and I beleive their is some special light weight carpet out their

I use a key turned sideways.

And yeah, just keep the carpet and buy more power.

why would it heat up? I could always open up those rubber gromet plugs a little more for more air circulation. Was thinking of takeing out all the carpet and leaving just a little sound deadening at the engine side and the exhaust side

Id say most people don't take it out because it looks stupid without it, and overall trashy.

It wouldnt be so bad if you just took the material underneath out and put the carpet back in. You would lose some weight and keep a clean look. You would still have to deal with the heat but its not that bad.

The heat isnt that bad, you get a little more road noise inside though.

yank it and get some lightweight replacement carpeting if your determined to do it anyway. you'll lose weight and still have a clean look.
