I've seen this cam on the Corvette Forums. 2 guys with ZO6's running this cam. With heads, at least (215cc/80cc) FAST 90 Intake and 90mm LS2/LS7 throttlebody, and LG headers are running in the area of 440-470rwhp and 428-440rwt. Pretty impressive for a 346ci.

I'm running the 228/230 Comp XER on a 112+2. Great cam, good lope. This is my fourth cam, my only regret is I should have gone bigger. However I might add that little by little my car is turning into a strip car only. Iron 408 this fall.

I have this cam in my car and it's a daily driver. I like it, No problems, makes good power. 6-speed cam only cars with this cam generally see 370-400 rwhp depending on which bolt-ons they have.

I had a set of LS6 heads that I gave to my tuner, but bought another pair (bare 243 head) with a stage 1 port job to 215cc/80cc for $770.00 on ebay, a brand new casting. (Pro-flo) I took them to the next level cleaning them up using a drummel tool with a speedometer cable and wand to get into the tight spaces. I dropped the floor of the intake port and cleaned up the runners and the exhaust runners, but left the D shaped exhaust ports almost alone for good outlet velocity. I then polished everything using buff *****. All took about 10 hours. I took them down to my friend's machine shop (Powerhouse, E. Taunton Ma.) and he milled them to 62cc for a resulting 11.0:1 compression. So, with little invested I'm very happy with the results. It was an easy decision for the FAST 90 intake and 90mm throttlebody hehe. Got the intake on ebay too, right out of the box and port mached the intake port to the new. Texas-speed.com for the LS2/LS7 throttlebody a great deal, GM wanted almost twice as much. I reused my LS6 sodium filled valves lol!

I've got the same cam. I am very happy with the set-up. Looking to add some TSP LS6 heads soon.
The cam is a good daily driver with good mid range power. It has a nice lope and a good ilde with tune.

I'm looking for 430-440hp and mid-11's....sounds like I could hit that with this 228 and the TSP LS6 heads.

What do you think?

You may make you lower end 430 RWHP if you gain more compression that I wanted to go with.
I had my AFRs milled -.020 off and went with the stock GM gasket. My compression is 10.85:1, and I dont have to worry about any pinging

430 isnt going to be easy with that cam unless you go afr heads and a 90/90 set up.

On maybe a very friendly dyno.

Do you really think you'll get more that 40-45 HP on that cam and 40-50 HP on those heads ? I dont

IF you have the 90/90 set up, you'll get 15+ more over the LS6 manifold
