Default Guys with lowered trans ams, question.

Do you have any trouble when it comes to taking your car to a shop and getting it on a lift, or even getting a jack under it to do oil changes because of the added ground effects on the TAs?
I know on my friends camaro its no problem but he has no ground effects.

Hell yeah......but biggest problem is the Cat/Y-pipe/ and Header clearance and/or subframes.

Gotta use 2x10's

i had some problems jacking up my 02 trans am that was lowered 2", what i would have to do is use the jack that comes with the vehicle to raise it up a few inches and then use the big jack. But when i put 18's on it i was able to get the 3 ton under it easily.

Shops have problems with our cars stock - I avoid a shop at all costs. I am anble to get a low profile floor jack under 1 side then I use another floor jack to get to the pumpkin or the K-member.

Yup! I'm dropped 1 1/2", anytime I'm taking my car to the mechanics, where it is going to be lifted - he already has 4 wooden blocks ready for me to drive up on. :-)

My sears low profile jack fits under mine no problem (lowered 1.5" front / 2" rear). When taking to a shop with a lift, they just put wooden blocks under the ramps so it can make it up onto the lift.

Ditto. Mine is lowered pretty good, my ORY hangs low, and my deep tranny pan even lower. On lifts you have to drive up on I do what ChevyChad says, on ones that the arms are free moving usually clear.

I just drive the two front wheels on thin pieces of wood, that gives me enough clearance. Not a huge deal
